Island Drainage & Groundwork Ltd is a family run business which has been trading solely on the Isle Of Man since 1991, the company specialises in groundworks, pipe laying, civil engineering work, road haulage, pipe jetting and demolition.

As a division of the demolition side of the business an asbestos removal service was begun in 2001 to run parallel alongside demolition projects requiring asbestos removal work. In 2006 Island Drainage were granted a license for asbestos removal work, a honoured priviledge to have.
The asbestos removal division currently emloys 5 operatives full time carrying out on average 40 - 50 contracts annually removing, repairing and encapsulating both licensable and non-licensable asbestos materials. Sometimes during asbestos removal projects fibreglass insulation may also be present which usually requires disposal to facilitate the asbestos removal work to take place. Reinstallation of new insulation material would then be required, which gave us the idea of offering up insulation services as well as asbestos based contracts.
